How to Enable Java Profiling with Prefix

Tomcat (6.x, 7.x, 8.x)

Add the -javaagent parameter to the JVM arguments of the Tomcat server

-javaagent:[Stackify Prefix Install Directory]\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar

Example:

-javaagent:"C:\Program Files (x86)\StackifyPrefix\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar"

Restart Tomcat

JBoss (6.x, 7.x) and WildFly (8.x, 9.x, 10.x)

Add the -javaagent parameter to the JVM arguments of your application server in the standalone.conf.bat file

set "JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -javaagent:[Stackify Prefix Install Directory]\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar"

Example:

set "JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -javaagent:C:\PROGRA~2\StackifyPrefix\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar"
rem # Make Byteman classes visible in all module loaders
rem # This is necessary to inject Byteman rules into AS7 deployments
set "JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Djboss.modules.system.pkgs=org.jboss.byteman,com.stackify.apm"

Restart your application server

Jetty (8.x, 9.x)

Add the -javaagent parameter to the JVM arguments of the Jetty server

java -javaagent:[Stackify Prefix Install Directory]\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar -jar start.jar

Example:

java -javaagent:C:\PROGRA~2\StackifyPrefix\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar -jar start.jar

Glassfish (4.x)

Identify the Stackify Path. You can find it from the StackifyPath env variable.

Add the -javaagent parameter to the JVM arguments of the Glassfish server

java javaagent:[Stackify Prefix Install Directory]\java\lib\stackify-java-apm.jar

Restart the Glassfish service
